Bringing Sunshine to Hearts - 2013 Golf Tournment and Lunch
Dear Attendees and Sponsors;
We are thrilled to announce that planning is underway for 2nd Ebstein’s Anomaly Fundraising Golf Tournment and Dinner – “Bringing Sunshine to Hearts” in April 2014.
In May 2007, I had my first open heart surgery. I was born with Ebstein’s Anomaly, a rare congenital heart defect, so my family and I knew this time would come. In the weeks and months leading to my surgery, my parents spent untold hours looking for the best course of treatment for me. We discovered that Ebstein’s Anomaly as well as many congenital heart defects does not yet have a firm base of research and experience in treating them. We met with doctors and institutions around the country and I underwent innumerable difficult tests. These were uncertain and emotionally draining times for me and our family. My surgery, the sixth one of its kind performed in the US, was successful and I'm doing well. I am working with my family and look forward to being a spokesperson for our family’s cause.
After working with many of the top surgeons and children’s hospitals, it became clear to us that advances in new heart valves and repair techniques in surgery would greatly improve the outcomes for patients of all ages. And so me and my parents founded The Ebstein’s Anomaly Foundation in conjunction with the Children’s Heart Foundation. The goal of our foundation is to bring health, hope and happiness to children impacted by congenital heart defects, America’s #1 birth defect!
We would like to respectfully request your involvement as an event sponsor and/or attendee. The Ebstein’s Anomaly Foundation does not receive any government funding, so your support is instrumental in helping us to continue to lead the way in funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects.
