We are thrilled to announce that planning is underway for
The Ebstein’s Anomaly First Annual Fundraising Dinner – “Bringing
Sunshine to Hearts” on
June 19th
2008 6 pm to 9 pm.
 Last May, our oldest daughter, Arden had her first open heart
surgery.
Arden was born
with Ebstein’s Anomaly, a rare congenital heart defect, so we
knew this time would come. In the weeks and months leading to
her surgery, we spent untold hours looking for the best course
of treatment for her. We discovered that Ebstein’s Anomaly as
well as many congenital heart defects does not yet have a firm
base of research and experience in treating them. We met with
doctors and institutions around the country and Arden underwent
innumerable difficult tests which she handled with great
courage. These were uncertain and emotionally draining times
for Arden and our family. Arden’s surgery, the sixth one of its
kind performed in the US, was successful and she is doing well.
She is working with us and is looking forward to being a
spokesperson for our family’s cause.
After working with many of the top surgeons and children’s
hospitals, it became clear to us that advances in new heart
valves and repair techniques in surgery would greatly improve
the outcomes for patients of all ages. And so Sarina and I
founded The Ebstein’s Anomaly Foundation in conjunction with
the Children’s Heart Foundation.
The goal
of our foundation is to bring health, hope and happiness to
children impacted by congenital heart defects,
America’s
#1 birth defect!
This event will see more than 150 of our
Lehigh Valley’s
most influential people come together on June 19th
2008 at 6pm for a dinner at Melt Restaurant (meltgrill.com).
The Chef Christopher Heath will prepare an exceptional dinner
and personally pick the wine parings for what will be a
memorable evening. There will be a special showing of exotic
cars from our sponsors and our guests will have the opportunity
to view cars at a private cocktail hour prior to the dinner.
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors we are excited to
have this event attended by so many and hope to raise more that
$50,000 to benefit The Children’s Heart Foundation (Ebstein’s
Anomaly) as well as creating a significant amount of awareness
for the sponsoring companies.
We would like to respectfully request your involvement as an

Foundation does not receive any government funding, so your
support is instrumental in helping us to continue to lead the
way in funding the most promising research to advance the
diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects.
